KOUIGN - 1981- NOW - the evolution of the neighbourhood bakery
about
I’ve dreamed of opening my own cafe for as long as I can remember. I could smell the coffee and the pastries, and I could hear the chatter of excited guests buzzing in the background. Nothing excites me more than creating soul satisfying food and feeding good people. After all this time it’s finally here.
Welcome to k o u i g n café.
k o u i g n café is the modern neighbourhood bakery offering unique treats, beverages, and flavour forward savoury fare in the heart of Vancouver’s Chinatown. What you'll find here is a balance between sweet and savoury notes in classic European and Asian pastries inspired by my memories of growing up in Chinatown learning everything I could about food, hospitality, and ingredients from my mother.
Each item tells a story and describes a significant memory from my childhood. My mother gifted me these memories and experiences and I have her to thank for that.
Now it’s my turn to share them with you.
So follow the white rabbit. Step into my world. We’re all a little mad here.
